Thanks to Mark, Joel and Doktor Tim for their input.  To be able to burn
87 octane, I will look for one of the 8.5:1 compression inline fours to
supply my engineless '90 Vanagon with motivation. I may be one of the
cheapest souls around, but if I pay an extra dime a gallon for 92
octane, that is like getting around 7% to 8% poorer fuel economy with
the current 87:92  fuel cost ratio.  I'm bad I know.
