My Vanagon has only 10 numbers in my VIN [there are only ten numbers also on my registration paper], and the carfax.com site says VINs are 17 digits. What's a guy to do? Anyone have an idea? ph '80 Westy --- Stefan Weir <WEIRSTEF@CS.COM> wrote: > In a message dated 12/20/99 11:40:48 PM Eastern > Standard Time, > wdavidson@THEGRID.NET writes: > > www.carfax.com > > Good final step in checking out a vehicle. > > Stefan > > << There is a web site (ask the list, someone knows > I'm sure) that you > can enter the VIN number and get back all records > of all the service that > was performed at VW dealers over the years since it > was new... this can give > you some idea of what was repaired, when, frequency > of service, etc. The > odometer readings at time of service can also give > you an idea if the > odometer has been cooked or now. >> > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
